Under the President’s Office, healthcare providers, teaching staff, and students demand Suprun’s resignation

Today, under the President’s Office, representatives of the medical community of Ukraine staged a large-scale rally with a request to dismiss Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun as soon as possible.
Workers of hospitals and other medical establishments, teachers and students of medical universities participated in the action.
«A strong rally was organized by the whole Medical Community near the Presidential building on Bankova Street today, for the soonest dismissal of a.i. Minister of Health Suprun! … People came from different parts of our country with only one request, to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskii, to dismiss Suprun !!! … And our University was also among the rallies !!! ”, – Oleh Tarabrin, professor, head of the department of anesthesiology, intensive therapy with postgraduate preparation of Odessa National Medical University wrote on his Facebook page.
In addition to her resignation, ONMedU students also asked Suprun to return stolen scholarships.
Shouts “Suprun, get away” and “Suprun, shame on you!” were heard at the rally.
It should be reminded that Suprun has been trying to take control of Odessa Medical University despite the current legislation and court decisions for mor than a year. After the teaching staff refused to accept Suprun’s henchman as the head of the university, the minister began financial pressure and refused to sign the budget of ONMedU for 2019. Because of this, teachers were not paid salaries and students were not given scholarships, communal debts were accumulated, and there was a risk of power supply shutdown in the clinics of the university where patients were treated.
Recently, the ONMedU team appealed to President Volodymyr Zelenskii to intervene in the situation and protect one of the oldest educational institutions in Ukraine.
