On July 4, 2019, students completing training under the training program for medical reserve officers at the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine of ONMedU, took an oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
Taking the military oath is the final stage in the training of reserve officers.
The period of training of reserve officers lasts two years. Theoretical training is carried out in the educational classes of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine of ONMedU, where carefully studied such disciplines as “Joint Military Training and Methods of Work with Personnel”, “General Tactics”, “Organization of Medical Support of Armed Forces”, “Military Toxicology, Radiology and medical protection “,” Medical care wound-them at the prehospital stage ” are thoroughly studied.
Military training and practical training took place on the basis of the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Southern Region, the Military Academy of Odesa, at the Western Naval Base of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and the training ground in the village of Chabanka.
This year, 95% of students completed the comprehensive exam with “good” and “excellent” marks. Twenty-five of them expressed their desire to join the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy after completing university studies and to build a military doctor career.
This year, 88 graduates took oaths, among them students studying at the 5th and 6th year of the Medical Faculty, 4th and 5th years of the Faculty of Dentistry and 5th year of the Faculty of Pharmacy and four interns and two doctors who had previously graduated from ONMedU. Half of the students who studied under the reserve officers training program are girls.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Military History Museum of the Operational Command “South” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The exciting event was attended by the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work of ONMedU Talalaiev K. O., representatives of the dean’s offices, the head of the department of disaster medicine and military medicine, the colonel of the medical service Maidaniuk V.P., as well as the officers-teachers of this department. They thanked the students for their diligent work, discipline, diligence in acquiring knowledge and practical skills, and expressed confidence that each student would become a qualified military doctor and would serve the Ukrainian people and the homeland in a worthy manner.
The student of the 5th year of the medical faculty Anastasia Kharitonova spoke on behalf of all the students with words of gratitude to their teachers. She assured her mentors that the students would always be worthy of a medical officer’s rank.
After that, each graduate personally took the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people and sealed it with their signatures.
