26th Congress of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (Rome, Italy, 2025)

On February 20-23, 2025, the 26th Congress of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (#ESGO2025) was held in Rome (Italy), bringing together more than 3,800 participants from all over the world, including Ukraine. The congress considered topical and controversial issues in oncogynecology: standardization of non-invasive diagnostics and surgical staging, the role of molecular markers in choosing treatment tactics, adjuvant therapy and the latest technologies (intraoperative chemotherapy (HIPEC), immunotherapy, the use of artificial intelligence in coordinating the actions of doctors and patients. The large session was devoted to “live surgery”: both radical interventions and minimally invasive ones, including operations to preserve fertility. Hereditary tumors, tumors in children and adolescents, tactics of managing elderly patients with oncogynecological diseases, and the latest immunotherapy methods taking into account molecular tumor markers were separately considered. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of ONMedU presented a report on the tactics of surgical staging of patients with early stages of endometrial cancer and cervical cancer using sentinel lymph node mapping in women with different body mass index. Meetings with colleagues in beautiful sunny Rome, exchange of experience, acquaintance with the latest technologies inspire and give hope for the future.
