On 27th July, 2022 there took a place the second online meeting between Odessa National Medical University and our Twin Queen Mary University of London. This call was moderated by Phill Gray, Director of Partners of Cormack Consultancy Group.
At the meeting, the Queen Mary University of London was represented by Prof. Sir Marc Caulfield – The head of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, QMUL, Prof. Colin Grant – Vice Principal International, QMUL and Prof. Richard Grose – Professor of Cancer Cell Biology, Centre for Tumour Biology, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Dean for Global Engagement.
In its turn, Odessa National Medical University was represented by its Vice-Rector for research and academic work, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Valeria Marichereda, Vice-Rector for prospective development, Doctor of Economic Sciences, associate professor Viktoria Borshch and Iryna Savchenko from Rector’s Office.
The meeting was positive and productive. Among others the following points were discussed:
Creating a bridge between the student communities of two universities, student exchange, academic and staff mobility. Recently reformed QMUL’s medical curriculum would be of great interest to our staff. Besides, QMUL have funding available for some teaching fellowships from Ukraine. An idea of sending ONMedU academics to QMUL to improve their teaching abilities will be considered.
ONMedU list of proposals for prospective cooperation which was the main subject for the discussion during the meeting, included also some research activities. Based on this document QMUL can put ONMedU in touch with the appropriate academics for further development of the mutual scientific projects of mutual interest.
