Scientific and Practical Conference “Continuity in the Management of a Patient with a Polymorphous Pathology of Internal Organs in the Context of the Health Care System Reformation “

On April 26-27, 2018, a scientific and practical conference “Continuity in the management of a patient with polymorphous pathology of internal organs in the context of the health care system reformation ” was held in Odessa. The conference was held in accordance with the “Register of congresses, symposiums and scientific-practical conferences to be held in 2018” by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The organizers of the conference were Odessa National Medical University, Department of Internal Medicine №2, in cooperation with the Association of Family Medicine of Odessa region, the Department of Health of Odessa Regional State Administration and the Department of Health of Odessa City Council.

During the conference, topical issues of diagnosis and treatment of complicated patients with comorbid and polymorphic pathology of internal organs were considered with emphasis on effective interaction between doctors of different levels of medical care provision and specialist doctors in the current conditions of reforming the health care system in Ukraine.

More than 150 delegates mainly from the city of Odesa, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions attended the conference, with reports and master classes from 20 speakers from Odessa, Kiev, Kharkiv and Vinnytsia. The issues of organization of primary care provision in rural areas (PhD in Med. V.O. Polasnyiy), continuity and effective interaction of doctors of various specialties were highlighted and discussed, as well as the issues of organization of medical rehabilitation of patients with polymorphous pathology of internal organs under the conditions of the health care system reformation.

On the first day of the conference, the participants were presented clinical lectures and reports, on the second – master classes on clinical treatment for patients with comorbid and multi-morbid pathologies. In accordance with the current international and national recommendations, optimal clinical and pharmacological approaches were presented for substantiating the medical treatment program, the choice of the dosage regime, the evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of the use of drugs of different classes. Each report was accompanied by lively discussions, questions and answers. Young scientists from Odessa and Kyiv brought the conference to a close.

A special issue of the “Odessa Medical Journal” was published for the conference, which contains 14 full-text articles and 19 theses, by scientists and practitioners from different cities of Ukraine, as well as foreign colleagues (Minsk, Belarus).

All participants of the conference received a certificate for taking into account at the attestation on the assignment (confirmation) of the medical category in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 484 dated 07.07.2009.
