Vice-rector of ONMedU: The First Step is to Finish the Repair Works and Begin Equipping the Multidisciplinary Clinical Center on Pasteur Street, 9 with Modern Equipment

One of the first steps of the new administration of Odessa National Medical University will be repairing and equipping the departments of the Multidisciplinary Clinical Center on Pasteur Street, 9. This was announced by the vice-rector of ONMedU for medical work Anatolii Son on the air of “Real Life” program on A1 channel.
He said that all the repair works had been planned to be completed by the end of this year. However, due to the destabilization of the university work, it was suspended, accounts were blocked, tender procedures canceled. “I was going round the clinic on Pasteur 9 earlier today, it’s a horror. The clinic is ready to begin the repair works, but they have not even been started, the walls haven’t been plastered yet. There are projects, but there has been no expertise. This is the first step to be done.”, Anatolii Son said.
In addition, because of the lack of the delivery acceptance certificate, the interdepartmental molecular genetic laboratory, which is unique in Ukraine, does not work yet. “Even the acts for those works that have already been completed have not been signed. The equipment has already been installed, there are reagents for the laboratory, but we cannot start working because for six months the work was blocked, “said the vice-rector. He expressed the opinion that the raiders could deliberately carry out such actions to discredit the ONMedU administration.
It is to be recalled that the conflict between the Ministry of Health and Odessa Medical University has lasted for about two years. Several times the university has been subjected to inspections initiated by the ministry, forceful attacks and blockages on the part of so-called “patriotic” organizations. The university staff elected Yurii Sukhin as the a.i. Rector of the University. On December 10, he was allowed to start doing his job as a result of the court decisions, with a legal executives and police officers escort. Now the university is working in regular mode. Scholarship and salary payments have been resumed, students and the staff will receive their well-earned quarterly and annual bonuses in time.
