The second part of the webinar: trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder

Tomorrow, on December 5, at 1:00 p.m. @Odesa National Medical University – ONMedU, UNICEF and the Coordination Center of KMU/Mental Health UA will hold the second part of the webinar on trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.

On the webinar we will talk about:

recovery of mental health in the context of family and community,
psychological assistance in case of collective trauma,
the impact of trauma on memory,
current stress factors in Ukraine,
what is post-traumatic stress disorder: two diagnostic approaches,
the difference between post-traumatic stress disorder and complex post-traumatic stress disorder,
flashbacks, as a characteristic symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder,
evidence-based methods of assistance in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder,
which interferes with natural healing,
the nature of post-conflict mental disorders.

The webinar is held in support of the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?” initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska.
Speaker:

Chris R. Bruin, Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology, University College London, UK.

Professor Bruin has developed influential models of the psychological mechanisms responsible for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), played an important role in the development and implementation of responses to major incidents such as the terrorist attacks in the UK, particularly in relation to screening and access to evidence-based mental health care. Participated in the recent WHO revision of the diagnosis of PTSD for the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11).
