The first practical part of the final assessment (certification) of doctors (pharmacists)-interns was held on the basis of the Educational and Production Complex of Innovative Technologies of Training and Informatization of ONMedU
Exams on mastering practical skills and abilities for doctors (pharmacists)-interns graduating in January 2025 have begun at Odesa National Medical University. The exam is part of the final assessment (certification) for the title of specialist doctor. Applicants are admitted to them after successfully passing the licensed integrated exam “Step 3”.
This year, for the first time, the exam is being taken on the basis of the Educational and Production Complex of Innovative Technologies of Training and Informatization (EVC ITTI) of ONMedU, the capabilities of which allow us to objectively assess the acquired competencies and practical skills of doctors (pharmacists)-interns in conditions approaching a real clinical situation. EVC ITTI provides constant video and audio recording of the exam, proper functioning of technical equipment, has appropriate mannequins, simulators and prepared standardized/hybrid patients.
On January 17, the exam was taken by 4 interns in the specialty “Pathological Anatomy”, on January 20 by 25 interns in the specialty “Radiology”. All future doctors successfully coped with the task, demonstrating a high level of mastery of professional competencies in the relevant specialties of internship.
According to the head of the internship department of ONMedU, Victoria Khatsko, the new form of the exam allows you to get a more realistic idea of the level of training of the future specialist in the conditions of creating situations that are as close as possible to clinical ones (cases), demonstrate mastery of the internship training program in a specific specialty, and makes it possible, if necessary, to adjust the training itself.
