ONMedU held its first meeting of the Academic Council this academic year

The head of the Academic Council, Academician Valerii Zaporozhan emphasized the issue of prospects for the development of ONMedU in today’s conditions. According to him, due to the war, the main tasks of the university for the new academic year are the quality and safety of the educational process.

To ensure the protection of students and teachers, the educational process at ONMedU will take place in a mixed mode: lectures and seminars — online, practical skills — in university clinics.

In order to optimize the structure of the university and the educational process, the rector suggested reorganizing the structural divisions by creating the Institute of Postgraduate Education, as well as unifying the departments of philosophy and bioethics and foreign languages.

Vice-rector for ensuring the quality of education, Doctor of Economic Sciences Valentina Protsenko reported on “Analysis of efficiency and ways to improve the work of departments using successful practices at ONMedU”. She noted that the commission on the quality of education conducted an inspection of all departments of the university regarding their readiness for the new academic year. The results of the inspection were heard at a meeting of the rectorate and were also sent to each dean’s office for study and elimination of existing deficiencies. In general, the institution is ready for high-quality training of specialists in the field of health care and further development.

The academic council congratulated three employees of the university with the academic title of professor and two employees with the academic title of associate professor. Another 5 candidacies of employees who were nominated for the academic title of professor and associate professor were supported.

In addition, the Academic Council supported: Yuri Bazhora’s candidacy for the World Health Organization award; the creation of a specialized academic council for the defence of a candidate’s thesis; nomination of candidates to fill vacant positions on scholarships of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists; providing a recommendation for the printing of the training manual in Ukrainian and English languages ​​”Management and Marketing in Health Care”.

In conclusion, the head of the Academic Council Valerii Zaporozhan once again congratulated everyone present at the beginning of the academic year and emphasized: “Our employees, even while on vacation, were preparing for the new academic year. We modernized the education system and used new mechanisms for preparing the educational process. I am confident that the curriculum for the 2022-2023 academic year will be fully implemented.”
