The Ukrainian Quality Assuarance Forum (UQAF-2024) was held in Kyiv for two days. The event gathered more than 800 participants from different regions of Ukraine and foreign partners. On behalf of ONMedU, the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work Eduard Buriachkivskyi, the head of the educational department Iryna Annenkova and the head of the education quality assurance sector Kateryna Usychenko took part in this outstanding event.
The forum opened with a plenary session on the topic “The future of education in Ukraine”, where the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi, the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov, the Chairman of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education Andriy Butenko and the Rector of NUBiP of Ukraine Vadim Tkachuk made their reports.
On the first day, 7 planned events took place, including three panel discussions and presentations of successful educational practices. Among the speakers of one of the discussions were heads of European agencies for ensuring the quality of education from Germany, Belgium, France, Croatia, as well as representatives of ENQA, CEENQA and the OSCE. Participants had the opportunity to attend a poster session, where examples of educational program accreditations were discussed in detail.
The second, final day of the forum, despite air strikes and shelling, included 4 panel discussions and 4 presentations of best educational practices. In two days, 15 events were held, accompanied by lively discussions during breaks. The forum became a large-scale platform for dialogue between experts, educators, scientists, deputies, government representatives, employers and higher education seekers regarding the improvement of the quality of higher education in Ukraine.
Undoubtedly, the new knowledge will allow Odesa National Medical University to reach a new level of the education quality assurance system, which will provide an opportunity to meet European and international standards, to form a highly competitive world-class medical elite.
