On May 6, ONMedU hosted an Open Door Day

On May 6,  Odessa National Medical University hosted a traditional Open Door Day, which brought together graduates of schools, lyceums, and medical colleges in Odesa and the region.

The program of the event was very diverse. In the 1st auditorium of the main building, representatives of all faculties met with future applicants to inform them about the specialties in which they are trained, the features of training, the advantages of receiving education at ONMedU, and career prospects.

After the official part, schoolchildren and their parents had the opportunity to get acquainted with many important locations of the university, which made a great impression on them. They visited the departments of: simulation medical technologies; anesthesiology, intensive care and emergency medicine; propaedeutics of pediatric diseases; obstetrics and gynecology. They also visited the Faculty of Dentistry and the institution’s museums: the one of the history of ONMedU, the one of human anatomy and pathological morphology.

It was nice to see so many interested and motivated school graduates. We talked to several potential ONMedU applicants. All of them had made a completely conscious choice a long time ago.

Rimma Pavlyuk, a graduate of the school in the village of Yakovlivka, Rozdilnyansky district:

I want to be a pharmacist, I want to understand different medicines and help people with useful advice. Our family doctor advised me to enter Odessa National Medical University, he studied here. Today I really liked everything, and most likely I will enter here.
Daryna Lebedynets from the village of Mayaki, Odesa district, dreams of becoming a dentist. She learned about the Open Door Day from the ONMedU website, which she often visits.

And why the Faculty of Dentistry? And why Odessa National Medical University? I dream that every person has a Hollywood smile, which can determine a lot in both career and personal life. And in ONMedU — it is interesting for me because it hosts various trainings, students’ trips for practice in foreign countries, — the girl said.
Tenth-graders from Lyceum No. 3 of the village of Kholodna Balka — Eva Kosoy, Khrystyna Byernova and Sofia Nikovska will only enter ONMedU next year. And their fellow countryman, a first-year student at the Faculty of Medicine, Serhiy Lesko, advised them to get acquainted with the university now in order to feel the atmosphere of the educational institution where they will study.

The conversation with Aryna Ustinovich, who graduated from Odessa Oil and Gas Technical School, was also interesting.

— I entered the technical school because I was not at all sure that I would go to medical college. And all the time I was studying, I regretted that I was studying “in the wrong place”. And this year I made the final decision: I will enter ONMedU. The main thing is to change your life in a timely manner in the right direction, which your heart tells you.

Absolutely all of our interlocutors are quite serious and purposeful. We hope that their dreams and plans will come true, and they will become first-year students in the year of the 125th anniversary of the glorious ONMedU.
