On December 27, 2018, the Head of the Students’ Self-Government Anastasia Starenko Spoke at the Academic Council of Odessa National Medical University.

According to Article 40 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, the financial basis for the activities of Students’ Self-Government bodies is the funds determined by the Academic Council of a higher educational institution in the amount of not less than 0.5 per cent of the own income received by the higher educational institution from the main activity.

The Students’ Self-Government plans to spend these funds on:

-support of scientific activities (financing of trips to Olympiads, conferences, internships abroad, etc.);

– encouragement of students of budgetary and contractual forms of studying;

-organization of sporting events and other needs.

Thus, the decision on financing Students’ Self-Government in the amount of 0.5 percent of the own income of the university in accordance with the current legislation was adopted unanimously!
