On October 15, 2026, Odessa National Medical University (ONMedU) joined the international educational event Scholarship Show, organized by the University of Botswana Career Development Unit. The university’s participation in the event was an opportunity to present Ukrainian medical education to young people in the African country, expand the circle of potential applicants and establish new contacts for international academic cooperation.
Scholarship Show brought together organizations and institutions that presented opportunities for obtaining higher education, receiving scholarships, participating in educational programs and internships, and also provided information on admission procedures. For future students, the event became a platform for direct communication with representatives of educational institutions and familiarization with the opportunities for international study.
An important component of the event was the Campus of Ukrainian Universities project initiated by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Botswana, aimed at popularizing Ukrainian higher education among the youth of Botswana, expanding access to information about Ukrainian universities, and developing educational ties between Ukraine and African countries.
ONMedU presented its educational opportunities in an online format, which made it possible to directly communicate with young people interested in obtaining higher education in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to questions from future applicants regarding educational programs, admission requirements, organization of the educational process, and opportunities for foreign citizens. University representatives, in particular, Head Department of International Cooperation and Work with Foreign Students Oleksandr Chaban and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine 2, Associate Professor Olha Honcharenko, provided the necessary explanations and answers, helping participants to better navigate the choice of an educational trajectory.
Direct dialogue with future students is an important component of international educational partnership. It allows not only to present the university, but also to understand the expectations of young people, determine their educational needs and form the basis for further communication with potential applicants.
For Odessa National Medical University, participation in the Scholarship Show is part of consistent work to expand its international presence, develop educational partnerships and attract foreign students. The African direction opens up prospects for deepening cooperation with educational institutions in the region, developing inter-university contacts and popularizing the opportunities of Ukrainian medical education at the international level.
ONMedU expresses gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Botswana for the initiative and support in popularizing Ukrainian higher education, as well as the University of Botswana for creating a platform for professional dialogue and introducing young people to international educational opportunities.
ONMedU is open to cooperation with young people from Botswana and other African countries. The university is interested in further developing international educational ties, expanding the geography of the admission campaign, and creating opportunities for foreign students to obtain high-quality medical education in Ukraine.
