November 10 is World Science Day for Peace and Development

World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated every year on November 10 and confirms the importance and relevance of science in our everyday life. Over the years, science has fundamentally changed society. It is focused on the improvement and preservation of life, namely the use of scientific achievements – the guarantee of a good future and reliable social development and peace.

The role of science in medicine is extremely important, multifaceted and is the basis for all aspects of medical activity – from diagnosis and treatment to prevention and rehabilitation.

In the conditions of martial law, the staff and students of Odesa National Medical University continue their scientific activities.

The scientific research works of our university are aimed at solving urgent problems, namely at developing new methods of diagnosis and treatment, improving the prevention of diseases and increasing the level of providing medical care to the population. Research into the influence of the environment, nutrition, lifestyle and other factors allows us to better understand the causes of diseases and prevent their occurrence.

The results of scientific and research projects are implemented in the educational process, allowing higher education seekers to learn from advanced examples in medicine and gain experience necessary for professional growth.

The youth of our university is actively involved in scientific work. Student research groups work at the departments, the Student Scientific Society, and the Council of Young Scientists are functioning.

Science has no borders, and joint research by scientists from different countries promotes the exchange of the latest scientific results, technologies and experience, which is especially important in medicine. Odesa National Medical University has about 60 signed agreements with scientific and educational institutions and organizations from 25 countries of the world, constantly expanding international scientific and academic cooperation.

World Science Day reminds humanity that scientific discoveries, creative and intellectual activity are the basis and driving force of progress, the key to peace and development!
