Ministers of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science and Education held an online meeting with rectors of medical universities

Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet and Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko held an online meeting with rectors of medical higher education institutions.

During the meeting with the rectors, the ministers emphasized the introduction of mechanisms for a powerful increase in the effectiveness of the educational process, the implementation of European education on programs, and control of the quality of knowledge and academic integrity. The participants also discussed the organization of the 2022 admissions campaign and preparations for the new academic year.

Therefore, higher education institutions of each region will independently determine and make decisions about the start date and format of education (online, mixed or offline), depending on the security situation in the region and the readiness of higher education institutions to ensure the protection of students and employees.

Experts noted that to ensure quality practical training for future doctors, all opportunities for offline or mixed training should be used.

They also discussed conducting an introductory campaign and preparing for the new school year under martial law, in particular:

active informational support of domestic health centres by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Culture before the international community;

termination of any cooperation with educational institutions and medical associations of the occupying state;

advocacy of the interests of foreign students, recognition of online education at medical higher education institutions of Ukraine by the medical councils of India and other resident countries, as well as support for the opportunities of higher education institutions to adapt programs to the requirements of the councils;

conducting licensing examinations of KROK;

implementation of academic mobility programs among institutions of the Ministry of Health according to the programs for higher education students from particularly dangerous areas;

arrangement of shelters and dormitories for students;

development of capacities of university hospitals;

creation of a network of medical simulation centres.

Based on the results of the meeting, several further activities are planned with the participation of the central executive authorities.
