Ihor Shevchuk is the best of the best in restorative dentistry among students of ONMedU

On March 22, the third clinical stage of the international restoration contest of the Global Clinical Case Contest took place on the basis of the Department of Dentistry No. 1 of the MMC of ONMedU. The winners of the second stage (phantom master class) which took place on March 12th participated in it.
The students who participated showed the best results in performing the competition tasks for restoring the carious cavity of the II class with restorative materials from Dentsply Sirona.
Of the three finalists, two students of the 5th year of the Faculty of Dentistry (Anna Yatsenko and Salka Raed) and one 4th year student (Ihor Shevchuk) entered the clinical stage.
The task was quite complicated, which required preparation of the contestants in advance. It was necessary not only to find patients with a demanding nosology, but also to prepare them for the provision of qualified assistance. Despite all, the contestants managed to do all “perfectly”!
All necessary restoration materials were provided by Dentsply Sirona, and instruments (coffers, photo-polymer lamps, etc.) – by the head of the Department of Dentistry number 1 A.G. Parkhomenko.
All contestants showed a high class of work in restorative dentistry. It was very difficult to choose the best of the best. However, after a long discussion, the jury chose Ihor Shevchuk, who showed the highest quality result, as the winner!
We wish Ihor to win the all-Ukrainian stage and to go to the international finals.
