Getting to know ONMedU

This time, the traditional celebration of getting to know our university took place on March 18.

Since school years, many people dream of becoming a doctor. For some, an example is someone close or familiar, for others it can even be a district doctor.

— When I was sick as a child, my grandmother immediately said: “We need to call our doctor Andreieva!” And I was looking forward to when this sweet, gentle woman with a phonendoscope in her bag would knock on our door. I liked how kindly she talked to me, gave advice, and wrote prescriptions. That is why I am here today, at the Doors Open Day, — said Nina Chistyakova, a graduate of one of the Odesa lyceums.

This event was held precisely for such serious and purposeful young people who know what they want and how to achieve it. An interesting and diverse program was prepared for high school students of schools, lyceums and medical colleges.

A meeting of future applicants with representatives of the administration and faculties, higher education seekers of various courses and interns took place at Olhiivska, 13.

The schoolchildren were told about the features of education and specialties that can be obtained at our medical university.

The executive secretary of the admissions committee, Elina Mokriienko, gave a detailed introduction to the admission rules for this year, the conditions for admission for graduates of schools and medical colleges, about passing scores for a particular specialty, and also answered numerous questions that concern future applicants.

An equally interesting part of the event was an excursion to the Innovative Simulation Center, where for the first time in their lives they could touch the most modern simulators-“patients” and even perform some manipulations on them. This alone is enough to fall in love with medicine!

The departments of propaedeutics of pediatric diseases, anesthesiology, intensive care and emergency medicine, as well as the university museums – anatomical and pathological-anatomical, excursions to which always leave incredible impressions,  opened their doors to young guests.

Spring is a time when school and lyceum graduates face a serious question: “What profession to choose?”. Their entire future life depends on the right choice of profession. It is now important to find your happy path in the vast ocean of scenarios of fate. And we hope that many of today’s graduates will come to study at the oldest medical university in Ukraine.
