On July 30, mhGAP trainer, Doctor of Medicine. Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy of ONMedU Tetyana Chernova conducted psychological self-help training for Ukrainian refugees in Kutaisi. Thanks to the support of the “Invulnerable” community, Ukrainian citizens who lost their homes, jobs, family ties, and friends because of the war, who at a fairly mature age are forced to start their lives from scratch and who are in great need of psychological help, came to the meeting.
The two-hour training covered issues related to anxiety and restlessness, the relationship between psyche and somatics, panic attacks, self-diagnosis, and medical and psychological assistance. According to the mhGAP trainer, this meeting will definitely help our compatriots to better understand themselves and their mental health, as well as learn how to cope with stress and anxiety thanks to getting to know the first aid kit of psychological self-help YOU HOW. “I hope that after the training, both mothers and grandmothers felt the concern for the mental health of every Ukrainian, no matter where he was going through the difficult times of the war. And this will help to withstand all the trials with dignity and return to our beloved Ukraine,” said Tetyana Chernova.
