A unique pedagogical advanced training course “Pedagogical Mastery. Digital Technologies” is being held at Odessa National Medical University as part of the Erasmus+ project “UkraineDigiTrans – Digital Transformation of Medical Education in Ukraine”, aimed at improving teaching skills, using digital tools and professional growth of teachers.
The course began in May 2025 and brought together more than 40 participants from various departments and specialties. The course program covers modern teaching methods, interactive approaches to teaching, development of communication skills and practical classes on the use of the latest technologies in education.
Teachers under the program have already successfully completed the following seminars:
Transformation of learning and teaching in the 21st century: a new role of the teacher, an approach to teaching design. Using digital technologies to support learning in higher education in Ukraine: opportunities and challenges. Flipped classroom: opportunities and benefits.
Pedagogical media: podcast and video. How to create quality content and opportunities for its use. Introduction to artificial intelligence in higher education. Interactivity in learning: engaging the audience using digital means (Menti, Miro, Forms, etc.). Appropriate digital tools for engaging content. Online course development: the process of preparing a pedagogical manuscript; guidance and assessment, interactivity in learning. Introduction to microcourses and microcontent.
Ethical aspects of digital education and pedagogy. Prospects and limitations. Building a shared understanding of the ethical consideration of digital education and pedagogy. Building a shared understanding of the well-being of digital education and pedagogy.
Cybersecurity in the healthcare system: Challenges for the doctor and the teacher. General security rules.
Virtual patient as a tool for the development of clinical thinking. Platforms for using and developing VPs CASUS, OpenLabirynth, Moodle;
Intellectual property and digital technologies in medical science and education: legal aspects and recommendations for researchers and teachers;
Telemedicine as a global system of modern healthcare; electronic health system (EHS), or eHealth, in Ukraine;

In November 2025, Odessa National Medical University continues the cycle of seminars. The third cycle of training for teachers of theoretical and clinical departments offers a comprehensive overview of the tool of artificial intelligence (AI), starting with its general provisions, advantages, disadvantages and important ethical aspects. Special attention is paid to the legal and regulatory field of use of AI, including EU Laws, UNESCO framework and Ukrainian methodological developments. In addition, teachers will be introduced to practical AI tools, both general and specific, as well as familiarization with the effective use of Microsoft 365 tools.
