Recently, “Vira” volunteer team, which includes employees of the Department and the National Center for Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology and Psychiatry of ONMedU, visited the children’s department of Odesa Regional Psychiatric Hospital to spend a day with children who need not only medical care, but also warmth and attention from adults.
The volunteers sincerely gave the warmth of their hearts to young patients, in return receiving incredible children’s emotions with which they expressed gratitude to adults. The volunteers played with the children, drew, read them fairy tales, sang and listened to children’s stories, supported them and gave advice.
For children, such meetings are an opportunity to feel support and understanding and open their hearts to the world.
And the volunteers were once again convinced of how important it is to do good deeds, to bring joy to those who are having a hard time and who really need support and care. Every smile of a child was the best reward for the volunteers.
We thank the administration of the children’s department for the warm welcome, and to each of our volunteers for the open heart, sensitivity and kindness that they gave to the children.
See you again with our little friends!
