III Conference UaReNet – 2025: New Challenges in Recognition

On April 25, 2025, the III Conference of the All-Ukrainian National Network of Recognizers UaReNet took place, organized by ENIC Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The event was held online and brought together about 200 participants from over 100 higher education institutions from different regions of Ukraine.

The organizers dedicated the Conference to current challenges in the field of recognition of educational qualifications. The event was opened by ENIC Ukraine Director Viktoriya Serрiшenko, who thanked those present for their trust and support. The participants of the Conference were welcomed by Albina Tsyatkovska, Director General of the Directorate for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science, emphasizing the importance of exchanging experience and constantly developing recognition practices in accordance with modern challenges.

Deputy Director of ENIC Ukraine Nataliya Naumenko presented the results of monitoring decisions of higher education institutions and announced the TOP-10 HEIs in recognition for 2024. The top five included:

Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University;
Interregional Academy of Personnel Management;
Odesa Polytechnic National University;
Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design;
Western Ukrainian National University.
During the Conference, Vitaliy Nosok, a representative of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education and Science, shared practical recommendations on the recognition of the results of non-formal and informal education.

Tetyana Vahina, Senior Advisor at ENIC Ukraine, highlighted the concept of automatic recognition of educational qualifications as one of the key steps on Ukraine’s path to European integration.

Anna Bakhlukova, Head of the Recognition Department at ENIC Ukraine, spoke about the procedure for validating foreign education documents, focusing on tools and approaches.

The second part of the event was opened by Senior Advisor of ENIC Ukraine Tetyana Yevdokymenko with a report on changes in the legislation on the recognition of learning outcomes obtained in the temporarily occupied territories.

Representatives of HEIs: Ivan Voyteshenko (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), Mykola Hryshkov (Kyiv Medical University) and Yulia Syvolap (Rauf Ablyazov Eastern European University) shared their experience in the practice of recognition.

In conclusion, Director of ENIC Ukraine Viktoriya Sergiyenko thanked the participants for their activity and invited them to a practical training on validation and recognition, which will take place on May 16, 2025.
