Webinar on the topic “Challenges of war in the legal regulation of medicine and pharmacy in Ukraine”.

On November 18, 2024, teachers and higher education seekers of  Odesa National Medical University were able to join the webinar on the topic “Challenges of war in the legal regulation of medicine and pharmacy in Ukraine”.

The invited speaker was Oksana Kashintseva, Ph.D., Professor, Head of the Department of Human Rights and Intellectual Property Rights in the Health Sector of the Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, a fellow of the New Europe College – Institute for Advanced Study (Bucharest, Romania), National Consultant of the WHO Office in Ukraine, Coordinator of the “Fight for Health” Legal Group of the “100 Percent of Life – Network of People Living with HIV” NGO, Consultant of the “Patients of Ukraine” Foundation, Expert of Working Groups at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Committee on National Health of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Advisor to the Director of the Ukrainian National IP Office.

During the meeting, the principles of legal regulation of access to medicines and assisted reproductive technologies in Ukraine, paternity/maternity for the military, the principle of “observing the best interests of the child” in the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, the general state of changes in the pharmaceutical industry, and other important topics were discussed.

The event was organized by the Department of Social Sciences of ONMedU with the technical support of New Europe College – Institute for Advanced Study (Bucharest, Romania). The webinar was moderated by Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences Olena Uvarova.
