The staff of the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine of the National Medical University congratulates Associate Professor Yovenko I.O. to his 50th anniversary.

Ihor Oleksandrovych Yovenko is the head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the Odrex Medical Center. Associate Professor of Odesa National Medical University, author and co-author of more than 160 publications in specialized medical journals.

Born in Kropyvnytskyi, he built a medical practice in Dnipro, where since 2010 he held the position of head of the polytrauma intensive care unit at the Dnipro Regional Clinical Hospital named after I.I. Mechnikova.

Dr. Yovenko’s work experience spans 25 years and includes polytrauma, abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, traumatology and orthopedics, neurosurgery, gynecology, urology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, microsurgery, plastic surgery, extracorporeal hemocorrection.

When the war started in 2014, and the first clashes took place in Mariupol, military personnel with bullet and mine-explosive wounds began to arrive at the Dnipro hospital massively and every day. For the entire time, Igor Oleksandrovych’s department received a very large percentage of wounded soldiers.

In 2019, the doctor moved to Odesa, where he started working as the head of the department of anesthesiology and intensive care at Odrex. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ihor Oleksandrovych actively studied the experience and adapted the clinical recommendations of foreign colleagues together with the team of the medical center, and later treated the first serious patients.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ihor Yovenko has remained in Odessa and continues to treat extremely complex patients.

Ihor Oleksandrovych is an anesthesiologist of the highest category, candidate of medical sciences, specialty “Anesthesiology and intensive care”, Honored Doctor of Ukraine (Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 491/2015), laureate of a state scholarship for outstanding healthcare workers (Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 457/2017) .
