On April 22-23, Odessa National Medical University hosted the annual Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Modern Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Clinical Medicine” (for students and young scientists), which was dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Professor Ivan Volodymyrovych Savitskii. The conference was attended by students of all faculties and staff of Odessa National Medical University, also presented works in co-authorship with medical universities of Lviv, Sumy and other cities of Ukraine, as well as students and young scientists from such countries as Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia.
The conference was divided into 13 sections, which were held simultaneously on the online platform Microsoft Teams. Students and young scientists had the opportunity to present their research and presentations to the presidium of their sections and other conference participants, including students, interns, graduate students, clinical residents, teachers, doctors and researchers.
On April 23, 3 online master classes were held on:
1. Fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery and flexible endoscopy
2. Primary resuscitation of newborns (Steps ABC);
3. Intubation of newborns (Step E).
On April 23 at 14:00 the Plenary Session took place, which began with a welcoming speech by the Rector of the University, Academician V.M. Zaporozhan. After that, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Doctor of Medicine, Professor V.G. Marichereda and the Supervisor of SSC and SYS, Doctor of Medicine, Professor O.G. Yushkivska were called upon to speech. Also, the Chairman of the Council of SYS O.V. Filonenko announced the winners of the conference at each section. B.A. Zinchuk, a sixth-year student, made a report on the work done during the year, the results of the preparation and holding of the conference. The plenary session ended with a solemn performance by the Center for Student Creativity.
The conference was attended by 2015 students, a total of 324 abstracts were submitted to the conference, including 268 from students and 66 from young scientists. A total of 157 reports were made (122 by students and 34 by young scientists). Among all participants, 26 people took 1st place, 22 people – 2nd place and 13 people – 3rd place.
The collection of abstracts and the conference program were published at the university website in time.
