Ten Simple Precautions To Help You Protect Yourself from NCoV2019 Coronavirus Infection

When leaving home, put on winter gloves, hold rails in subway, bus, and public areas wearing them.
If you need to take off your gloves, perhaps to shake your hand or have lunch, do not touch your face or eyes after that, no matter how much they are itching. Keep hands away from face contact. And before putting on gloves, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, wiping your fingers afterwards.
Change gloves daily, wash them thoroughly.
Masks are useless when worn outdoors and may not be very effective even indoors.  Using the same mask day after day is not just in vain, but very harmful, because it is trapped by a huge number of microorganisms. Stay away from the crowd, half a meter away from an individual. Do not exchange handshakes or hug people –  politely say that it is better not to make close contact during the epidemic.
At home, immediately remove all towels from bathrooms and kitchens and replace with clean towels with the embroidered names of each family member. Ask everyone in your home to use only their own towels and never touch the towels of other family members.
Be careful with door handles. If you can open and close the door using your elbows or shoulders, do so. Wear gloves to rotate the door handle or wash your hands after touching it. If someone in your home becomes ill, regularly clean the door handles with disinfectants. Also be careful with stair rails, desktops, cell phones, toys, laptops – with any items you can hold in your hand. As long as you only work with your personal objects, you will be fine, but if you need to take someone else’s cell phone or use someone else’s computer keyboard, be careful, do not touch your face and immediately wash your hands after each contact.
If you are sharing food, do not use your personal cutlery or crockery. Ask your children to never drink from other people’s cups or from a container of common liquid. In China, it is customary to cook several dishes, and then everyone present at the table with their own sticks impose their own food: do not do this until the epidemic is over. Place serving spoons in each dish. Thoroughly wash all food and dishes between meals, avoid visiting restaurants that do not adhere to hygiene rules.
Do not buy or eat live animals or fish until you know which species was the source of the virus.
Ventilate the room. The virus cannot linger in a well-ventilated area.
If you are caring for a family member with a fever, always wear a tight fitting mask. Put it on the sick person as well (unless they feel sick). When you replace an old dirty face mask, put on latex gloves. Wash the patient’s face with warm soapy water and wipe with a paper towel in gloves.
