The Department of General and Clinical Epidemiology and Biosafety with the Microbiology and Virology Course of ONMedU announces with deep sadness that after a serious illness, the assistant professor of the department, Kostov Oleksandr Dmytrovych, passed away.
In 2006, Oleksandr Kostov graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty of Odesa National Medical University with a degree in Pediatrics, completed an internship and worked as a district pediatrician in the Kirovohrad region, and then in one of the city children’s clinics of Odesa. Later, he was accepted as an assistant professor to the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of ONMedU, where he worked until 2020.
Oleksandr Dmytrovych was a cultured and polite person, with a large amount of knowledge, which he constantly improved. He enjoyed well-deserved authority and respect among colleagues, patients and students. His classes always combined theoretical knowledge with practical medical experience, which improved the educational process.
The administration and staff of the university express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Oleksandr Kostov. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his colleagues, friends and students.
