This solemn event took place on Monday, June 30, 2025. ONMedU graduates, now young professionals with diplomas, will remember this special day for the rest of their lives, which marked the completion of an important stage in their lives and the start of new opportunities, challenges, and achievements. They say goodbye to their home university, their beloved teachers, departments and laboratories, magnificent lecture halls, library, and museums — everything that is associated with the concept of “student life” for them.
They were warmly welcomed by the First Vice-Rector of ONMedU, Professor Valeria Marichereda, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Associate Professor Eduard Buryachkivskyi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Tetyana Prybolovets, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Associate Professor Denis Davydov.
We asked the graduates to share their memories of their years of study, about what is especially dear to them.
Darya GUTKO (Faculty of Dentistry): I would like to thank the university for the most valuable treasure it has given to its students — knowledge, both theoretical and practical, for the wonderful teachers of all departments who respected and guided us. They taught the theoretical material in a very interesting way and analyzed situations from clinical practice in detail. I would like to thank the teachers of the Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry, especially Associate Professors Stepan Mykolayovych Koval and Ilona Vasylivna Herasimova.
Viktoriya POSTNIKOVA (Faculty of Dentistry): I would like to thank the teachers of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry and Orthodontics, who passed on their knowledge and skills to us, and shared their practical experience. I will also mention the teachers of the Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry, who devoted a lot of time to us and treated everyone with great attention and sensitivity.
Yana KUGEL (Faculty of Medicine): These were the best years of my life! We gained a huge knowledge base, skills of independent search and a desire for the process of knowledge, which for a doctor is endless. With warmth and gratitude I will remember the lecturer of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, my beloved and respected mentor, Associate Professor Galina Oleksandrivna Volokhova, who supported me and believed in my abilities.
Kateryna KOVTUNYAK (Faculty of Medicine): I transferred to ONMedU for the 5th year from Poltava Medical University. At first it was difficult for me in the new place, but I felt the sincere support of my classmates and teachers, so I soon coped with all the difficulties. I really like the specialty of pediatric surgery, and for several years I combined my studies with the duties of an operating room nurse at Odssa Regional Children’s Hospital. There I realized how difficult the work is, but this did not stop me, and I plan to study at the internship in this specialty.
Yes, the graduates have internships ahead of them, and this is also a great page on the path of a real doctor. It won’t be easy – it will be interesting! And most importantly, each of them is determined to work hard, because they studied at Odessa National Medical University to work to achieve their goals.
Happy, successful and good journey to you, graduates of ONMedU 2025!
