National Health Forum of Ukraine – 2025

On May 22, 2025, the National Health Forum of Ukraine – 2025 was held in Kyiv at the P. L. Shupyk National Health Institute of Ukraine under the motto “Medical Doctors of Ukraine: We Save, We Win, We Rebuild!”

The main goal of the event is to improve the accessibility and quality of medical services in martial law and the post-war period, ensure financial protection for patients and medical workers, increase the prestige of the medical profession, discuss issues of medical self-government, professional standards, and involve young people in the development of the medical profession.

The forum program was very rich and informative. The event consisted of three panel discussions. The plenary session — panel discussion No. 1 “Healthcare of Ukraine in Wartime and Post-War Times: Challenges, Prospects” — was opened by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko. He presented the strategy for the development of the healthcare system until 2030. Panel discussion No. 2 was dedicated to financing healthcare in Ukraine in the face of global challenges and ensuring financial protection for patients and healthcare workers. Panel discussion No. 3 considered issues related to the prospects for the development of the medical profession: education, professional standards and medical self-government.

Interesting reports were prepared by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee on National Health, Medical Care and Medical Insurance of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykhailo Radutsky, Anatoliy Kazmirchuk, Professor, Major General of the Medical Service, Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vasyl Lazoryshynets, Professor, Academician, Acting President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Douglas Davis, Professor of the Medical College of Wisconsin, USA, Vassilios Papalois, Professor, President of UEMS and others.

Odessa National Medical University was represented by the Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics, Doctor of Philosophy, pediatrician Darya Usenko, who was awarded the distinction “Future of the Medical Profession”.

The participation of young doctors and scientists in medical forums is strategically important for the future of medicine and contributes not only to individual professional growth, but also to the overall improvement of the quality of medical care and scientific research. Investments in the development of young specialists are investments in the health of the nation.
