International Conference “Safety in Anaesthesiology”

Simulation technologies are being increasingly implemented in the process of training students and professionals throughout the world, they have taken the leading position in some countries.

ONMedU has always kept pace with global trends and introduction of simulation education as one of the main methods of teaching and controlling knowledge hasn’t become an exception. Simulation technologies have been successfully implemented in our university for more than three years. The simulation center is located at nine departments of our university: departments of obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, therapies (propaedeutic of internal diseases), robotic surgery, operative surgery, ophthalmology, orthodontics, anaesthesiology and intensive care, military medicine. A huge variety of simulators enables students, interns and experienced professionals to master and improve a wide range of skills in different clinical situations and varying degrees of complexity. The most advanced technologies of simulation education in medicine are collected at our university. Our students and interns can study an interesting topic for them, and immediately get an objective assessment of their knowledge and skills, with a detailed analysis of their mistakes, which allows them to understand what issues require more in-depth study as well as watch growth of their professionalism in dynamics.

An important fact is that a lot of professionals, especially beginners, are afraid of overcoming the psychological barrier. The desire not to harm the patient, due to lack of experience, in performing one or another manipulation or surgery, often stops development of a specialist, or even leads to his degradation. Work on simulators, which, doesn’t really differ much from the living person, will allow you to master and bring the desired skill to perfection and eliminate the psychological barrier, even in work in extreme conditions.

Therefore, we have already included this section of education not only in the curriculum, but also in all our international activities.

A series of lectures on simulation technologies used in anaesthesiology and intensive care will be delivered during the International Conference “Safety in Anaesthesiology” held by our University on the basis of Medical Hub Odrex, on February 19-20, 2018. In addition, Course II “Heart and Circulation” including a large section of simulation technology will be a part of the European School of the CEEA program in anaesthesiology, which will be held by our university in Odessa on May 21-23, 2018.

Dear friends and dear colleagues! We invite you to the conference that will be held at the Odrex Clinic on February 19-20, from 9:00 to 18:00.
