According to the international standards, the right of professional attestation of gynecologists should belong to the industry association. This was stated by the president of the Association of Obstetricians-Gynecologists of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Valerii Zaporozhan during the plenary session, which began its work in Kiev.
He stated that for 10 years the Association has been cooperating with the European and world communities. During this period a lot of experience and materials have been accumulated, qualitative preparation for transition to European requirements, experience and indicators has been carried out. “From Soviet times to the present day, doctors have been certified by regional health departments. Why is a doctor’s qualification validated by lawyers, economists, and anyone but their colleagues? There may be any education, any diploma, but until the doctor has proven his knowledge and skills to the industry association – certification will not be passed. This is happening all over the world. It is the responsibility of every doctor before every patient, ”said Valerii Zaporozhan and suggested that a pilot project should be launched in Ukraine.
According to him, with the coordinated action of the Ministry of Health, the profile committee of Verkhovna Rada and the Association, such a project can be completed within a few months. “We have everything ready for this. Today, the plenum is attended by the leading experts from European and US associations, and they have developed all these programs with us. Patients cannot wait 3 or 5 years more, they get sick and die daily, ”the scientist added. For her part, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Zoriana Skaletska supported the proposals of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. “Everything I heard is absolutely supported. We need to look at how we can maximize your involvement. Collaboration with such constructive associations that make proposals that work together to resolve the problem is what the ministry needs. And I am very pleased that you have a lot of experience and that you have the support of European associations, ”the minister said.
