Events at the Department of Social Sciences Related to the Chornobyl Disaster

On April 24, 2018, an associate professor of the Department of Social Sciences, Ph.D. in History delivered a lecture “Chornobyl Disaster and Its Consequences” for the students of groups 9-11 of the international faculty specializing in dentistry on the tragic events that happened on April 26, 1986 at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and their consequences. The purpose of the event was to expand the knowledge of foreign students about the Chornobyl tragedy, to emphasize the potential danger of radiation for all living things, to tell about the liquidators of the Chornobyl nuclear disaster, to show that people are not indifferent to disaster, to raise love for Ukraine, nature; to cultivate humanity, kindness and solidarity. The discussion and questions were interesting and important, the report aroused the discussion. The students made appropriate conclusions.

On April 22, 2018, the tragic events and circumstances of the Chornobyl disaster were recalled by the students of the 6th group of the first year of the medical faculty, a senior laboratory assistant of the Department L.G.Yurchenko shared his memories of the horrible event.

A round table was held with the students of the 1st group of the 1st year of medical faculty number 3 of the specialty “Practical Psychology”, at which the reports about the memorable date were heard.
