Master Class of Practical Skills in Obstetrics and Gynecology for 5th Year Students of Group 1 of the International Faculty

A master-class of practical skills in obstetrics and gynecology was conducted for 5th year students of group 1 of the international faculty from different countries: Israel, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Namibia, DR Congo, Mauritius Island by assistant professor O.M Pavlovskaya on 14.05.18, on the basis of the department of obstetrics and gynecology №1 (the head-professor I.Z.Gladchuk).

The students had the opportunity to use modern phantoms and simulators to polish their skills in:

• gynecological examination (mirror, bimanual, rectal);
• pelvimetry,
• external obstetric examination (Leopold’s maneuvers),
• auscultation of the fetal heartbeat, depending on the attitude,
• providing obstetric care in labor,
• determining the state of the newborn according to Apgar score;
• the primary toilet of the newborn.

The students acquired the necessary original knowledge and skills, which constitute an important part of the professional training of the future physicians.
